Hudson Shad is known internationally for their interpretation of "The Family" in Kurt Weill's "Seven Deadly Sins". They have performed this work alongside such distinguished singers as Ute Lemper, Marianne Faithfull, Patti Lupone, Julia Migenes, Akiko Nakajima, Sheri Greenawald, Angelina Reaux and the following orchestras:
Hudson Shad has two recordings of "The Seven Deadly Sins", one for Teldec with the New York Philharmonic and the other for EMI with RSO Wien and Marianne Faithfull.
Hudson Shad’s Weill connection does not end with the “Sins”. They debuted their show “Weill American Style” at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and later performed it at other venues including Semper Oper Dresden and at the prestigious Kurt Weill festival in Dessau.
