What sets Hudson Shad apart from other groups of their genre is their consummate professionalism and flawless musicianship. Although they embody the repertoire of the Comedian Harmonists, they also maintain their own originality by not limiting themselves to mere imitation.
The elegant, funny and imaginative way in which they present their music makes their performances uniquely entertaining and most always brings the audience to their feet.
Their repertoire, however, is by no means limited to the music of the Comedian Harmonists. They also focus on American hits ranging from the 20's to the 70’s including songs from The Revelers, The Mills Brothers, The Paul Whiteman Orchestra, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and the Beatles, to name a few.
In addition to popular music of yesteryear, they also perform Kurt Weill, Schubert Lieder and contemporary works such as Oliver Knussen's "Where the Wild Things Are" and Stravinsky's "Renard" with major orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, Atlanta Symphony, Linz Bruckner Orchestra, Miyazaki Festival Orchestra and the Saratoga Festival Orchestra.
